I have owned quite a few pairs of boots over the years for a city dweller and have to start off by saying that these Converse Boots are by far the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. I have owned multiple pairs of Merrill hiking boots, Sorel boots, military style boots of multiple makes, and none of these, even if close in price, even come close to the comfort of these Converse boots.
Now I’m going to take a step back here for a second- I am always the first one to question anything produces what I like to refer to as the "rave reaction" in people; and by this I mean anything that causes people to jump about demanding you try a product or activity that they swear by, and therefore you should swear by- things Mac's, hybrid cars, Iphones, croqs, Zima, 70spf sunscreen, organic anything, board shorts with built in underwear, Pilates. I could go all day, you get the point.
Back to the boots:
THESE ARE NOT ONE OF THOSE HYPED UP THINGS THAT DON'T DELIVER! these things rock! Talk to anyone on the team who uses them, better yet talk to anyone in the Armed Forces who has them, the reviews will be the same as I mentione above. Somehow they keep you feet secure without putting pressure on your feet at all- including your heels. Now every other pair of boots (and shoes for that matter) that I have ever owned gripped your heel to lock you feet in. It seems that the converse boot grips your feet though your calf and leaves your actual foot alone and unpressured. They are not too hot, and provide great traction and support when negotiating uneven terrain. Whats more, they really do make you run faster and jump higher!!! If I had to guess, I’d say there is extra terrestrial technology at play in these things, and if they weren’t so badass looking (to the point that they might frighten women and children) I'd wear them around every day.
Summed up in a quotation from myself that IPA game in Hemet (in 105 degree heat)- "Everything hurts, but my feet feel great."
